The Task

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. (Philippians 3:12)

And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (Colossians 3:23-24)

I have given you your task to do. Strain forward, therefore, with your eyes upon the goal and do what must be done. Going through the motions is not enough—that is never enough to reach a goal. Stop cheating yourself by merely going through the motions. It accomplishes little and leaves you with no satisfaction. Go forward in strength and honor, boldness and fresh enthusiasm. Go forward in My name as surely as Paul did his work in My name.

I command you to stop holding back! Use the energy, the talents, the wisdom and the opportunities I have given to you. Use these things—do not cower before them.
