Hello my Steeming Pals!
Italiano
Georgetown, Penang

Georgetown, Penang
It often seems as though there is a race between modern cities of the world to build something iconic as a distinguishing feature just as the Coliseum is for Rome and the Pyramids are to Giza. A few examples include, the Burg Khalifa and Burg Al Arab in Dubai, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur and the Taipei 101 tower in Taiwan. Should we add the ( very ugly) Shard in London as well?
Children on a Bicycle, Georgetown, Penang
Reaching Up, Georgetown, Penang
One young artist in particular, Ernest Zacharevic from Lithuania, set the standards very high when working on the project back in 2012. I personally I find his work particularly good as it has the ability to grasp my attention with awe. The “kids on the bicycle” and the “boy on a chair” are just a couple of examples of Ernest’s fascinating and entertaining style that show the artist’s amusing creativity.
The Oarsman, Georgetown, Penang
Within the space of a few years the murals in Georgetown have proven a big and continued success with teams of young backpackers roaming around the old town’s streets on a hunt for the best paintings to admire. There are mapped itineraries to follow two make sure none are missed. People pose and take pictures all the time.
Of course the guest houses are full of visitors and the bars in the evenings are packed with life.
