Does anyone here know the story of the Hunt Brothers? It really is a fascinating tale. Two Texas oil men who accumulated a massive store of physical silver (100,000,000+ ounces). But that wasn't enough for them. They then set about gaining even more exposure to the price of silver through millions of dollars more in silver futures contracts on the Commodities Exchange (COMEX). Unfortunately, things went south for the Hunt Brothers shortly after that...
The rest is a story for another time. What I have been thinking about recently is this simple quote from Nelson Hunt.
Nelson paid a big price for his silver. But the point is that he determined what he wanted and set about getting it. What do you want in life? Is there a clear path before you or does it require you forge your own path. What will help you get there? Money? Time? Education? Connections?
