I've never considered myself an addict of technology, but my recent retreat has revealed the extent to which I rely on the tech in the palm of my hand.
I know addiction. As a past addict, I can recognize the feelings, and mindsets that accompany co-dependent relationships. Addiction is most easily spotted, when it manifests as drug, alcohol, or sexual dependency. While terrible, at least they can been seen, and treated to some extent. The "hidden dependencies" are the ones that do not pose a direct threat to a person or the ones around them, but ultimately can cause unseen harm to the psyche and spirit over time. Seek balance. Im not saying shut it all down, but if you're spending excessive time on the marvelous tech we have today, make it count. Time is precious. Don't mindlessly scroll, the view is much better if you look up.
