Ending my 5 days in the Woodlawn Cemetery with this squirrel holding an acorn. I was hired to carve 2 stumps. You can see the owl I carved here: https://steemit.com/art/@jonatftforest/a-little-whittling-in-the-woodlawn
The owl took 2 days to carve.
Here's the squirrel
And a quick gif
It took me 3 days to carve this one. I don't know if it was my tools and I being tired, but the squirrel was the hardest wood I've ever carved. I am exhausted from it. 2, eleven foot oak stumps in 5 days. I shouldn't complain though because I was paid well to carve them. And in a famous cemetery to boot, what an honor and amazing opportunity. They will have me back to carve more, exciting to say the least.
Here's a couple photos of the progress:
Found the ears and head here. End of day 1
Starting to take shape
Caught a selfie from up top
The best view point
This was the end of day 2 and boy we're my arms sore.
Here's another finished pic at the end of day 3.
The whole process on both were filmed but I'm an amateur video producer so it will take awhile to edit the footage. It was also filmed by a professional along with some drone footage. That will be shared on the Woodlawn Cemetery's Facebook page but I will share it here as well later on.
Once again an awesome opportunity to be able to carve at this Cemetery.
