I post quite a bit of my Drum & Bass, mainly because that's predominantly what i've always made, but I have made some slower tempo or more abstract stuff in the past that I wanted to share on Steem. I know that Drum & Bass can be an acquired taste and pretty fast tempo wise, but I really like anything when it comes to music.
The first track is the one I spent many hours on, Arcturus, which is made almost entirely without samples, creating my own synths from a basic sine or square wave. I used one sample, the short female vocal about halfway through, but apart from that it's pure synthesis. This piece was heavily inspired by Sci-fi themes, the cosmos and everything else that comes from within.
The second track is very short, and more of a loop, but I recorded the piano melody live at the time, way back in 2008 and just made my own beat, wacked loads of reverb and delay on it, added some effects and even though it's rare for me to do 2 minute tracks, i think it ended up being the right length. Anyway, i try to make slower stuff, but to be honest my heart is and always will be in Drum & Bass, I'm a born Junglist! ;)
