I follow a few people on Twitter who makes some good amount of money on one online venture, apparently they've been doing it for a while and finally cracked the code and now they're making some crazy amount of money.
So basically all the do is post the screenshots of the money they make via this venture and say some massive motivational thingy which gets people to comment and talk. People always ask how they can also get involved to make that money too, but apparently this people makes sure never to talk about their strategy, how they do it and all.
It's quite typical of people to gatekeep opportunities especially the ones they put a lot of work for them to crack the code, especially because they don't want to giveaway their working strategy, for the fear that these opportunities might get diluted and they'll lose their edge.
This is why I don't ask people to tell me how they make their money or the secret sauce to how they got it, because they're not going to do so, and I don't expect them to do so.
Gatekeeping
People are natural gatekeepers, if you think otherwise then you're a big fool. Most people who post about they money they've made from a venture on a social platform is either trying to farm engagement to make more money on that platform, or they're trying to brag for the sake of social status and perhaps they're trying to farm referral or trying to sell a course.
Selling a course is one of the most lucrative business ever, which I don't think is wrong, the only problem is that even people who are trying to sell courses from business opportunities that are real almost never sell the complete courses.
.....They either put some little and withold other information to also sell them later or they split the courses into different volumes and asking people to buy them differently.
This is life in general.
When people begin to live better financial lives, they start staying away from their old friends, classmates or even previous associates and this is because they're trying to gatekeep their status, form another level of class and create a form of gap or disparity.
I know people that their financial status changed for the better and now we don't talk anymore. Generally I expect these kinds of attitude and that's because people are natural gatekeepers, I expect almost everyone to be like this, and that's because it's difficult for people not to give in to their animalistic or selfish tendencies.
It takes a lot of discipline for people not to, and only a few actually creates a level of discipline.
Validation
A lot of People use social media for validation and showcase their status, and most times boast about money they make from opportunities that that they never plan to talk about. It creates a level of pride, importance, classism and approval.
This is why I implore people to do their research. Of course it's hard, the internet exists because we went to do difficult things in simple or easy ways, so when people develop shortcuts to actually do some of the most difficult things, they try so hard to gatekeep this, and some people will agree to exchange the information for more money.
However there are truly no life-changing opportunities that are currently free on the internet. Some are either selling it or choosing to wait until they make hundreds of millions of dollars before they can talk about it. Some others are selling theirs on a subscription based model.
The reality is that you'll almost not get full life-changing opportunities simply lying around, it's other you become intentional about giving time and resources to searching or getting this information for yourself or you're paying a well trusted source to give you this information.
You could spend years asking people to tell you for free how they unlocked that fountain that's earning them generational wealth, and they'll simply laugh or mock you.
It's left for you to begin to pay the price. A price has to be paid and even though it's hard or difficult, you need to have to pay because the real informations that are life-changing is being hoard away from the eyes of the general public.
