Phone Photography Contest - #109 | Street mural from Cumaná

These days, one of the main attractions are the murals on the streets, whether created by artists or not; sometimes they’re spontaneous and individual, other times part of a campaign, but they’re always fascinating.

This is the case with the three photos I’m sharing today of an attractive mural on Santa Inés Street in Cumaná. Unfortunately, either the artist didn’t sign it or my eye can’t make it out. But one can appreciate a clear pictorial quality in it, in addition to the concept that seems to inspire it, which is to honor a popular figure from Cumaná, linked to cultural elements so characteristic of this area, such as fishing and the consumption of fish and the joy of flowers.

En nuestros tiempos, una de las atracciones la constituyen los murales, sean hechos por artistas o no, en las calles; a veces son libres e individuales, otras veces como parte de una campaña, pero siempre de gran interés.

Es el caso de las tres fotos que comparto hoy de un atractivo mural hecho en la calle Santa Inés, de Cumaná. Lamentablemente, o su autor no lo firmó, o mi ojo no lo ve. Pero en él puede apreciarse una clara calidad pictórica, además del concepto que parece motivarlo, que es honrar a un personaje popular cumanés, vinculado a elementos culturales tan característicos de esta zona, como lo son la pesca y su consumo, y la alegría de las flores.
