“Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.”
by John Wooden
Today is the “Information Generation” where you can easily pick up all the information you need from the internet. We are all loaded with too much information, it’s up to your brain capacity to absorb it. Because of this so called “Information Generation” many of the young adults and millennials are very talented and full of abilities. But unfortunately, many of them forgot the real secret to keep them successful. Many of the young adults now doesn’t have good moral and right conduct. Most of them are too ambitious, too much belief in their self and don’t care for the feelings of others, In short, they don’t have the right CHARACTER.
I would like to share my friend experienced to his workplace. He has an officemate with really good talent and skills. Most of the hard tasks are assigned to him but one time an incident happened. My friend of mine ask help from this guy but you know what he did? Instead of helping my friend he broadcast to the whole team that my friend is stupid and not doing his job correctly. My friend of mine didn’t ask him to do his task, he just wanted to hear some ideas and better solution. To make the long story short, this guy is now long time gone to the company because many team members are now irritated to him and not willing to work with him because of his bad character.
Great talent and skills are not enough to be successful in life. One has to have the right character too. Most young people don’t keep this in mind. Your CHARACTER can make you successful in life, not just in your career.
Did you encounter such people with bad character? Or do you think you are the one who’s lacking of it? I hope this post will give motivation to those who can relate.
