How to Edit Your Blog For New Users
Hello new Steemers, if you are just starting out, like I am, you may be wondering how to edit your blog and make fancy titles and such. It took me a while to figure this out, and I just wanted to pass along the information and hope this helps out someone that is just starting out.
Lets start with making a title. So I have learnt HTML a long time ago and its kind of different on Steemit. To make a title you have to use this "#" as your opener, and at the end of your title, close it with "#".
Example: "#" title "#" just minus the quotation marks. And you will need to have the space in between the hash tag the title.
"# It should look like this #"
It should look like this
Now you can also add sub titles below your main title. The way to add this sub title is by adding 2 hash tags for the opening title and 2 hash tags to close it.
Example: "## title ##" Again just minus the quotation marks.
" # This is what it should look like with a title and sub title #"
"## I'm a sub title ##"
This is what it should look like with a title and a sub title
I'm a sub title
Now lets have a look at making words bold and italic. To make words stand out you will want to use "**" for your opener for the word you wish to make bold.
Example: " ** Steemit ** " Just minus the quotes
Stemit
And for italic
Example : " * Pizza * " Minus the quotes
Pizza.....MmMMmmmmmMm Pizza. See? Simple right?
Images For Your Blog
How To Insert An Image
The easiest way to do so is by saving and image to your computer, and then dragging and dropping the image right into your blog post.
Here is an example of what you should see once uploaded. Here is a picture of me drunk as F*!k, it will look like this as a code once you drag and drop the image:
(! JoeFr.jpg ) It might look different then what you see here, but go with the code you see on your end.
Things to Keep in Mind
If you insert your image at the beginning of your blog, it will automatically be your thumbnail for your blog. You'll want it to be eye catching enough to draw in readers. You might want to use pictures ok for commercial use, and copy right free. Here are 2 examples of websites that I use all the time for free.
