South of Charleston, SC is a beautiful beach that has options for all sorts of beach goers. A pier for fishing, wildlife habitats for nature enthusiasts, a lighthouse inlet heritage preserve for history buffs, restaurants for eating & drinking and of course...an amazing beach for sunbathing & swimming.
That was my beach spot with my Flaska Water Bottle and sandals. Here's the pier....
If you're a fisherman....it's an amazing pier that extends 1,045 feet into the Atlantic Ocean.
There's a canopy at the end that provides shade so it's also a perfect spot to just sit, relax and look at the ocean.
It's a beautiful life...
Parking isn't too bad on a weekday. It'll cost you $5-$10 to park in a metered spot or in a lot. You can park on the street FOR FREE if you're lucky enough to find a space.
That is the beer you'll want to drink when in Folly Beach. I don't advise drinking in the sun because South Carolina in the summer is a hot, hot, hot place.
And of course. The beach is very relaxing...
It was a calm day when I visited though I'm sure the waves are normally sufficient for avid surfers.
Thanks for joining me on this little visit to Folly Beach, South Carolina. It's only a little over an hour off of interstate 95 if you're doing a cross country trip and is well worth the effort.
