⛵ ⛵ ⛵ ⛵...(Tour of "High Island")...Continued...
[Last time...]
As the crew took their positions, the two incoming canoes suddenly began to slow down in heavy back paddling. What looked like their leader held his hand high in the air and called out…..
“Pashoy Tai!” (We talk!)
“What’s he sayin'?!” Galligan asked half out loud and half to himself.
“Bludy heel if Ahh knows!!” The Captain replied as he slapped his scope shut and headed for the stairs!

[On the Silverton…river Niagara…]
Again the lead Indian shouted out, “Pashoy Tai!” (We talk!)
The Captain leaned over the portside forecastle rail and watched the Indians carefully. Then suddenly the lead warrior motioned to a younger Indian, a boy obviously in his young teens, to speak…
“We come talk!” He yelled out!
The Captain turned to Commander Galligan, “He speaks bludy Sassenach! Flin' doon th' rat lines! Let’s gab tae these savages in a civilized manur!”
“Aye Sairrr!”
And with that, the Commander called out his order to throw down the ratlines and show a sign of welcome.
At first, the Indians did not know what to think…
“They fish?!” One said as he observed the large netting.
”No! They want us come up!” The leader corrected as he motioned to paddle forth cautiously, eyeing the many sailors on the port rail that had gathered in great curiosity.
“!pimp” Warrant Officer Trumpman muttered in excitement as he watched.
“The Seneca may be looking for trouble, they must realize they can't stand up to the crew of our powerful frigate!” Cockpit mate Lupega said under his breath.
“Sairrr, you may be right, but look, the Keptin is dropping the ratlines!” Able Seaman Trautenberk observed.
“I'd like to know if these Seneca will trade their furs for some silvers?!” Commander Kerrislravenhill said with a wry smile.
“Hahaha! Aye Sairrr! Happy moments on the ship starting a new year maybe!” Lupega jested.
As the two canoes neared the great hull of the Silverton, the Captain stood at the top of the portside ratline and motioned for them to come aboard. It was then that the young Indian spoke again…
“You want us climb?!”
”Aye! Climb boy!” The Captain said with a brief chuckle.
In a flurry of their own tongue, the boy explained to the seven warriors that they had been invited aboard the great ship. The lead warrior looked up cautiously. The hull seemed taller that any teepee he and ever seen, and the number faces appearing along the rail kept increasing by the minute.
Finally, he nodded, but motioned to one warrior to stay with the canoes.
