Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros rudos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, me encantan los filmes de Jason Statham en dónde la sangre, puñetazos y palizas están a la orden del día, es por ello que cuando vi el póster de "Wild Card" no necesite leer más para ponerme manos a la obra y ver qué tenía para ofrecer esta película de uno de mis actores favoritos. Sin más que agregar prepárense para hacer apuestas imprudentes pues estamos por comenzar.

Es un filme de acción, la historia se centra en Nick Wild un hombre que reside en las Vegas y se gana la vida realizando trabajos esporádicos con los cuales logra mantenerse, su rutina cambia cuando una chica es golpeada brutalmente y casi asesinada, siendo por esto que le pide que le ayude a conseguir venganza, el asunto es que los que le hicieron eso no eran precisamente unas personas cualquiera.

La banda sonora cumple con su labor a grandes rasgos debido a que le da cierto carácter al filme, no cuenta con momentos excepcionales ni nada que se le asemeje, cumple el rol mínimo que se le exige.

The world-building does not really have much to contribute, Las Vegas is proposed as a setting and the criminal underworld as an interesting context, although neither of the two is explored in any way nor does it have an interesting role throughout the film, they are elements that complement the film but they don't really have a notable presence.
La construcción de mundo no tiene mucho que aportar realmente, se plantea las Vegas como escenario y el submundo criminal como contexto interesante aunque ninguno de los 2 es explorado de ninguna forma ni tiene un rol interesante a lo largo del filme, son elementos que complementan a la cinta pero que realmente no tienen una presencia destacable.

La trama es algo lenta en un primer momento debido a que busca dar algunos datos sobre el protagonista y demás, el problema con esto es que uno de los puntos más importantes radica en que no aporta información crucial como por ejemplo su ludopatía que es un punto fundamental para entender la trama y que se introduce de forma forzada, los momentos de acción podrían considerarse algo escasos pero estos se encuentran cargados de altos índices de violencia y sangre por lo que no hay quejas sobre ello. Narrativamente, el filme avanza de forma extraña debido a que algunas situaciones las desarrolla dando por sentado que el espectador debería de saber lo que está pasando, esto último hace que algunos de sus giros sean incomprensibles producto de dicha carencia de información. La duración es la correcta, dura lo suficiente como para poder degustar los diferentes momentos de acción y para que su sencilla premisa pueda llevarse a cabo (Aunque esta no es en absoluto importante).

El resto de personajes no son en absoluto importantes, se dividen en impulsadores de la trama o carne de cañón para que el protagonista acabe con ellos.
Wild Card is the typical action movie in which violence abounds and common sense is conspicuous by its absence. Wild Card es la típica película de acción en la que la violencia abunda y el sentido común brilla por su ausencia, si se hubiese mantenido en esa línea del estilo sobre la sustancia habría terminado siendo algo mucho mejor, lo que termina siendo una piedra en su camino es el hecho de intentar dar profundidad y trasfondo a su protagonista, lo anterior es un problema debido a que se realiza a las carreras y es por ello que termina siendo contraproducente. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2.5 estrellas de 7, muy disfrutable si se obvia su historia nefasta y sin mucho sentido y solo se enfoca la atención en la violencia exquisita que contiene.
