Welcome my dear nostalgic internet travelers and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, I don't think there is a being in this world or the next that does not know the Power Rangers because on this side of the planet they have formed part of popular culture for years, which is why when I saw that they had released a sequel to one of the first "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always" I couldn't resist the impulse of nostalgia. Without further ado, prepare to transform and face evil because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros nostálgicos del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, no creo que haya un ser en este mundo o en el siguiente que no conozca a los Power Rangers debido a que en este lado del planeta han formado parte de la cultura popular desde hace años, es por ello que cuando vi que habían sacado una secuela de uno de los primeros "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always" no pude resistir el impulso de la nostalgia. Sin más que agregar prepárense para transformarse y enfrentar el mal pues estamos por comenzar.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always was released this year, directed by Charlie Haskell, produced by Entertainment One and Hasbro, and has a duration of 55 minutes. It is an action film, the story focuses on the Power Rangers 30 years after their last adventures, a terrible evil is released so they must face the new threat that can end the world, unfortunately something they cannot do. They were prepared for the fact of losing one of their comrades in battle, despite the suffering and pain they must move forward and accept a new member to be able to save the planet again.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always fue estrenada este año, dirigida por Charlie Haskell, producida por Entertainment One y Hasbro, cuenta con una duración de 55 minutos. Es un filme de acción, la historia enfoca a los Power Rangers 30 años después de sus últimas aventuras, un terrible mal es liberado por lo que deben hacer frente a la nueva amenaza que puede acabar con el mundo, desgraciadamente algo para lo que estos no estaban preparados era para el hecho de perder a uno de sus camaradas en batalla, pese al sufrimiento y el dolor estos deberán avanzar y aceptar a un nuevo miembro para poder salvar al planeta nuevamente.

The world building really doesn't have anything that makes it stand out, there is no interesting exploration of any aspect or anything similar, the only thing that could stand out is that I found the effects very pleasant, I haven't seen Power Rangers in a while many years so when I saw the quality of these I was left with a good taste in my mouth.
La construcción de mundo realmente no tiene nada que lo haga destacar, no existe una exploración interesante de ningún aspecto ni nada que se le asemeje, lo único que podría destacar es que los efectos me parecieron muy agradables, no veía a los Power Rangers desde hace muchos años por lo que al ver la calidad de estos me quedé con un buen sabor de boca.

The plot is what you can expect from this saga, a simple premise of defeating the current villain, you cannot expect any kind of very complex twist or anything similar. The same thing happens with its narrative, there is no element that gives it a certain depth, I was honestly moved when I saw that one of the Rangers was killed but this event really does not cause the impact it should, this is disappointing because it misses the opportunity to use that moment as a turning point to give complexity to both the plot and its characters. The length is perfect, because it is a franchise that never has anything truly complex, so it is a smart decision to have a duration of less than 1 hour.
La trama es lo que te puedes esperar de esta saga, una premisa simple de derrotar al villano de turno, no se puede esperar ninguna clase de giro muy complejo ni nada que se le asemeje. Lo mismo sucede con su narrativa, no existe ningún elemento que le dé cierto carácter profundo, sinceramente me emocioné cuando vi que uno de los Rangers fue asesinado pero realmente este evento no causa el impacto que debería, esto es decepcionante debido a que pierde la oportunidad de usar ese momento como un punto de inflexión para dar complejidad tanto a la trama como a sus personajes. La duración es perfecta, debido a que es una franquicia que nunca tiene algo verdaderamente complejo por lo que es una decisión inteligente el tener una duración menor a 1 hora.

The characters do not have any kind of characterization or depth, this is common for the franchise but it is sad that this is repeated because it had an unprecedented event (As far as I know) for what Power Rangers are so it is sad that Don't take advantage of this to give complexity to your characters and make them feel alive. The villain is typical, she wants to conquer the universe just because, as basic and predictable as they usually are in this franchise.
Los personajes no tienen ninguna clase de caracterización o profundidad, esto es común para la franquicia pero es triste que esto se repita debido a que tuvo un evento sin precedentes (Según yo sé) para lo que son los Power Rangers por lo que es triste que no aproveche esto para dar complejidad a sus personajes y hacerlos sentir vivos. La villana es lo típico, quiere conquistar el universo solo porque sí, tan básica y predecible como lo suelen ser en esta franquicia.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always is exactly what you expect when they talk to you about the saga, there is not much more I can say since it follows a pattern that has not been broken for a long time, it is not funny that death was added of one of his characters but treats the subject with the seriousness it deserves. It is for all the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, I have to admit that as a positive point it has its effects that are very pleasant, especially if it has been a long time without seeing an exponent of the franchise, the above and the combats make it somewhat moderately passable but they are not innovative enough to differentiate it from the rest.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always es exactamente lo que te esperas cuando te hablan de la saga, no hay mucho más que pueda decir puesto que sigue un patrón que no se ha roto desde hace mucho tiempo, no tiene gracia que añadiese la muerte de uno de sus personajes sino trata el tema con la seriedad que amerita. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, he de admitir que como punto positivo tiene sus efectos que son muy agradables sobre todo si se lleva mucho tiempo sin ver un exponente de la franquicia, lo anterior y los combates la hacen algo medianamente pasable pero no son lo suficientemente innovadores como para diferenciarla del resto.
