I've been listening to old songs about Jerusalem and this Bible verse has been coming back to my mind again and again: "Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing." (Matthew 23:37)
These are the words of Jesus Christ who lamented about Jerusalem and her inhabitants in the ancient world. It shows how deeply He cared for the Jewish nation, the people of Jerusalem, the salvation He brought to His chosen people, and the frustration about their stone hard hearts and inability to recognize their Creator and Savior at the time!
But due to Israel not recognizing and accepting their Savoir at the time, salvation came to the rest of the world - to the sheep that are not of "this sheep pen." It was God's plan to save every person who believes and accepts Jesus Christ as his personal savior, not only the chosen and promised to Abraham nation of Israel.
God's wisdom is unsearchable and unattainable, higher than the human mind can ever ascertain or understand.
