The Hound: His inner battle of good against evil
With classic narratives we got used to the fact that characters are entirely good or bad, that there are only heroes and villains, and that the good guys prevail. Reality is quite different, because the division of good and bad is subjective and everybody has a dark side, which they try to balance with their better selves. The Hound, from Game of Thrones, embodies this equilibrium as he demonstrates that it is possible to be good and bad at the same time, and that's what makes him so interesting. Lately we have seen the Hound leaning towards the side of the heroes, but deeply we know his real conviction is egotistical, because he only wishes to make the Mountain (his brother)pay for what he did to his face. He made this very clear on the finale of the Seventh Season. In despite of his motivations, however, The Hound should be recognized for all the good he has done, like settling for a normal life before his friends were murdered, and fighting for Jon Snow beyond the Wall. I like him because of his complexity, and also because he breaks with the stereotype of knights. Let's hope he doesn't get killed.
