Located in these enigmatic Montes de Toledo, and about thirty kilometers from Toledo, the Guadamur Castle is one of the most outstanding examples of this military architecture, the castle, which gave its name to Castilla.
Its towers, its battlements, its barbacanas form a beautiful set of well-matched geometries, which are complemented by the esotericism implicit in an unequivocal star-shaped plant.
Like all castles, regardless of their status, Guadamur Castle also had famous prisoners and its many legends, where the one that speaks of the ghost of a Moorish princess, daughter of the Sultan of the castle, who was killed by keeping Love relationships with a Christian.
But Guadamur Castle - nowadays, private property and in its halls all kinds of events are held, such as weddings, communions or business meetings - it is also famous, for having been the ideal setting for movies and adventure series.
In this sense, it should be noted that within its enclosure and in the surroundings, that landmark of the horror cinema was recorded, which under the title of 'The Night of Walpurgis', initiated the terrible sagas of the werewolf, character that achieved fame International by the hand of actor Jacinto Molina, better known worldwide as Paul Naschy.
Here too many chapters of the Spanish sword and adventure series, known as ‘Red Eagle’, were recorded, participating as extras, many of the inhabitants of the town of Guadamur.
And most importantly: it was here, in the lands of this town, where the famous Visigoth treasure of Guarrazar was discovered, which we will talk about on another occasion.
