Located in the Plaza de la Seu, in the heart of Barcelona, the cathedral, dedicated to the figure of Santa Eulalia, is a masterpiece that not only conserves in its magnificent conjunction the magic of the medieval stonemasons, but also, is heir, also, of a long and fulfilled history, full of mysteries and details to discover.
In view of part of it, perhaps it is not at all risky to think that perhaps it was not chance, that in this precise place where its stones sing the symphony of the universe, raising its voice towards the spheres of the infinite, it will rise, in pre-Romanesque times , a church that was under the invocation of the Vera Cruz. And it does not seem accidental, either, that the first convent-fortress that the Templars had in the Ciudad Condal -on whose site, currently stands the so-called Casa de l'Ardiaca or Casa del Obispo-, was built a few meters away of one of the covers that transmits, symbolically speaking, that light of knowledge or inner light, which defines the name of his godmother: Santa Llúcia or Santa Lucía.
Nor does it seem accidental, as we saw in the previous entry, that in the meantime symbol is also located that enigmatic and wonderful Garden of the Goose, whose symbolic path, travels and develops the pilgrim in his transcendent epic towards Unity. Nor the presence, even as a replica, of that singular Black Virgin, who is Mother and Heart of Catalonia: Our Lady of Montserrat.
Nor the enigmatic mystery, still unresolved, of the enigmatic skull crossed by a dagger, located on the nearby bridge that connects the Generalitat with the Casa del Canonges. So much within that immeasurable forest, where the hollow opacity of the steps themselves seem to be confused with the ancient druidic songs, as in its surroundings, everything is a sublime symbolic world to be discovered.
And, to contemplate this singular monumentality, does not leave the spirit indifferent; nor did he pass unnoticed on that fortunate day of October 1211, a singular visitor - San Francisco de Asis, whose signature was a Tau - when, just after disembarking at the port of Barcelona, he said that of:
- Thank you, Lord, for sending me here to fulfill your mandate. Because this place is the anteroom of Paradise.
