Щойно повернулася з Києва. Відбулася, так би мовити, моя перша зустріч із столицею у воєнному стані. Хочу поділитися враженням від поїздки.

I just returned from Kyiv. It was, so to speak, my first meeting with the capital in a state of war. I want to share my impressions of the trip.
Не перестаю обурюватися з того, як працюють наші місцеві залізничні вокзали. Потяг я обрала нічний, щоб на ранок бути в Києві. На місцевій ж/д станції не зупиняється жоден пасажирський потяг, лише електички. Тому, змушені були їхати до іншого міста, а там чекати на потяг до столиці, який відправлявся звідтіля майже в 2 години ранку. Приїхавши, була шокована тим, що вокзал зачинений. Те, що жоден ліхтар не світить, то не новина, адже світломаскування ніхто не скасовував. Та зачинити саме приміщення, знаючи, що курсують нічні рейси, то як на мене справжнє свинство! Уявіть, я чекала більше двох годин на лавочці біля вокзалу у суцільній темряві. На території жодного поліцейського. Навколо тиша. Чесно кажучи, було досить моторошно, адже грабіжникам такі умови подобаються, як ніколи. Це ще добре, що була гарна погода. Якби йшов дощ, то й сховатися ніде. Крім того, ніхто не об’являє прибуття і відправлення потягів. Доводилося бігати по-під коліями, щоб бува не проґавити свій.
I don't stop being indignant about the way our local railway stations work. I chose the night train to be in Kyiv in the morning. No passenger train stops at the local railway station, only electric cars. Therefore, they had to go to another city, and there wait for the train to the capital, which left there at almost 2 o'clock in the morning. When she arrived, she was shocked that the station was closed. The fact that none of the lanterns are lit is not news, because no one canceled the light masking. But to close the premises itself, knowing that there are night flights, then what a real hogwash! Imagine, I waited for more than two hours on a bench near the station in complete darkness. There is no policeman on the territory. Silence around. To be honest, it was quite scary, because robbers like such conditions more than ever. It's a good thing that the weather was good. If it rained, there was nowhere to hide. In addition, no one announces the arrival and departure of trains. We had to run under the tracks so as not to miss ours.
Прибувши до Києва, зразу ж звернула увагу на велику кількість військових та поліції На самому вокзалі ведеться огляд речей та пропуск їх через сканер, також, перевіряють документи. Автомобілів на дорогах багато, але суттєво менше, ніж було до війни.
Arriving in Kyiv, she immediately drew attention to a large number of soldiers and police. At the station itself, things are inspected and passed through the scanner, documents are also checked. There are many cars on the roads, but significantly less than before the war.
Ще однією неприємною несподіванкою було те, що багато станцій метро закриті, а на деяких не працюють ескалатори. Звичайно, я розумію про заходи безпеки, адже в країні війна. Тому і не працюють станції в центрі міста та ті, де потяг рухається не під землею. В зв’язку із такою ситуацією, щоб добратися до сусідньої зупинки метро, необхідно здійснити 2 пересадки. На цих ділянках тисячі людей. Натовп такий, що аж страшно. Крім того, на перехідних станціях якраз і ремонтують ескалатори і замість 4 працюють лише 2. Щоб дібратися до них, доводиться відстояти чималеньку чергу. От і виходить, що шлях, який раніше займав від сили 20 хвилин зараз буде тривати більше години.
Another unpleasant surprise was that many metro stations are closed, and some escalators are not working. Of course, I understand about security measures, because there is a war in the country. That is why stations in the city center and those where the train does not move underground do not work. Due to this situation, it is necessary to make 2 transfers to get to the nearby metro stop. There are thousands of people in these areas. The crowd is so scary. In addition, at transit stations, escalators are being repaired and instead of 4, only 2 are working. To get to them, you have to wait in a long line. So it turns out that the journey that used to take 20 minutes will now take more than an hour.
Через таку роботу метрополітену доводилося долати чималеньку відстань пішки. В мене були справи у різних районах столиці: Дарниця, Поділ, Вокзальна. За день я пройшла майже 30 кілометрів. Так показав смартгодинник. Зразу я милувалася Київськими вулицями та насолоджувалася перебуванням в улюбленому місті. Та під кінець дня, я так втомилася, що вже не мала сили помічати навколишні краєвиди.
Незважаючи на всі незручності, наша столиця живе і вирує. Люди намагаються пристосувалися до змін та нового ритму. Сам же Київ прекрасний, як завжди.
Due to such work, the subway had to cover a considerable distance on foot. I had cases in different districts of the capital: Darnytsia, Podil, Vokzalna. I walked almost 30 kilometers in a day. This is what the smartwatch showed. I immediately admired the streets of Kyiv and enjoyed my stay in my favorite city. But by the end of the day, I was so tired that I no longer had the strength to notice the surrounding scenery.
Despite all the inconveniences, our capital is alive and kicking. People are trying to adapt to changes and a new rhythm. Kyiv itself is beautiful, as always.
