The first thing I have learned in life is we're not here by chance. Each one of us is created for a purpose! I wonder why I am here and what God is looking for in me at times. As I read the Bible, I realize that there is more to my life than food, work, money, and fun. The true reason for my existence is to know God, to obey Him, to worship Him and to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
The Bible says in Revelation 4:11 that, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” This verse is so helpful to my understanding that I was made for God's enjoyment. My life should be a witness to His glory in all my endeavors. If I treat people well, am kind, patient and obedient, then I am doing one of my duties on earth.
I also think that God wants others to be helped by us. A few words of encouragement, a few words of kindness can make a difference in someone's life. Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” This is a reminder to me that my actions should lead people to God.
I know when I am confused, or when I feel weak, I remember the word of the Lord: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you… thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This is why I feel confident that God has already a beautiful plan for my life!
Finally, our aim in life is to serve God, love others and be ready for eternity. I have discovered that life without God is senseless. However, in Him, my life is worth, peaceful and hopeful.
