Yep, his name is Shorty. Fits him perfectly, don't you think? Shorty is my new baby brother.
Brought home in 2009, Shorty is a Smart Car, Brabus Edition, made by Mercedes. He gets 45 - 50mpg with how they use him. He's great for scooting around town economically. He even takes to the highways extremely well. Move over 18-wheelers...Shorty coming through!
Our family just love him. He's so small and cute...kinda like a little puppy. My baby brother.
He was ready to greet me when I arrived.
Because my house is at the RV storage facility, I don't get to see him often. He comes by to see me though. He tells me the trips they've taken not just with him, but our other brother, Jimmy. He's a GMC Terrain. I just listen patiently. I'm not jealous, if that's what you're thinking.
Besides, Shorty will accompany me on a lot of trips too. He had to have the right tow equipment. But first they had to take him back to his dealership to have some type of special connection mounted before a tow could be installed. That way, it wouldn't void his warranty.
Once installed, they looked for the right tow. They had a hard time finding one because Shortly was too light for the heavy Bow Ox and the other tow bars. His front end would lift off the ground. This caused him to shake uncontrollably.
Finally someone suggested to them a closed-in trailer so he could be totally off the ground when in tow.
Look what our family found for him. It's an Aluma trailer, only 6.0 ft. long. Fits him perfectly, don't you think? Even has a back guard so he can't roll back and fall off. You know how kids are!
They tie him down and he's all set to go. Shorty's so light, I don't even feel him back there. But my special cameras let me check on him to make sure he's behaving. See him getting ready to travel with us:
We're gonna have lots of fun traveling together.
My new road dawg!
