Hello everyone in the hive blockchain. I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Welcome to my blog.
Christmas is my favorite season. It is my favorite holiday. It is that period of the year where everyone keeps smiling and forgets about the worries of life. Not only is Christmas a period to celebrate the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ, it is also a period of love and peace. It is a period where people get to show their good sides by sharing gifts to their loved ones.
My favorite months are December and February (February because that's my birthday). Of course, every other month is nice and all, but have you ever noticed that there's always something different about December? And that is because that is when we celebrate Christmas. The atmosphere is solemn and different. The air changes. Things go smoothly.
Christmas is a period to rock new clothes. Buy jew shoes. Nice haircut, shiny wristwatches and all. I remember how we used to celebrate Christmas when I was a kid. My siblings and I were always happy. Why? Because we'd get new clothes. My mom would measure our legs with a broomstick. And that is when we know “oh yeah! I'm getting a new shoe”. My mom gets an A1 in taking care of her kids during Christmas. She always made sure she bought nice things for us.
Christmas is also a period to eat. A period to eat like there is no tomorrow. Food will always be in surplus.you can go from one house to another and I bet you'll get at least one plate of rice. I remember there was a year when houses in my street shared food. We collected more than 10 plates of rice and chicken that day. And we all consumed it within minutes.
I have a lot of nice Christmas memories. Memories that will forever linger in my head. Christmas, when I was a kid, will forever remain the best. Everyone was together. My siblings, my cousins, aunts, and uncles, and friends, we were all together under the same roof. We celebrated Christmas as a family. We did everything together. But now, things have changed. We don't celebrate Christmas like we used to. My siblings are in different places. Everyone is just busy solving their problems. Well, it is inevitable. I just hope this Christmas will be different from last year's.
ONE THING I LOVE ABOUT CHRISTMAS
There are so many things I love about Christmas; the atmosphere, love, gifts, and the food. But if I was to choose something, just one thing I love about Christmas, it'd be “family bond”. Family makes Christmas interesting. The best holidays are the ones we spend with our families.
About a week ago, I commented on a Christmas post (on ’s post about Christmas ). She wrote a poem and talked about how interesting the period is. I had mixed emotions reading that poem. I was happy because the Christmas period is around the corner and at the same time, I was sad because I wouldn't be spending it with my family.
Due to exams (I’d be starting my semester exam very early next year, Jan 2) and there's little time to return back to school if I travel, plus I wouldn't be able to read well if I travel home. How would Christmas be without my family? I had decided not to travel home to celebrate Christmas with my family, but I got a call from my sister. She told me she has a surprise and I shouldn't dare miss it. So I changed my plans to travel back home on Christmas day.
Christmas is all about family. Celebrating Christmas with family is very important. You get to discuss and talk about a lot of things. Share funny memories, cook and play together. Hehe. One of the reasons I dislike being at home during that period is because of errands. As the last child of the house, be prepared to run errands till your legs hurt. If you know what is good for you, just disappear and come back when the food is ready.
That is the time I receive gifts from family members. I remember when I was a kid, I got a skate shoe as a Christmas gift from one of my uncles. Before that time, I had always wanted skate shoes. Not that I knew how to ride one, but I knew if I had one I’d teach myself. Thanks to him, I trained myself how to ride skate shoes and today I'm a pro (hehe, I'm not a pro, but I'm good).
In conclusion
Christmas is a period to share love and gifts. There are hundreds of people out there on the streets, homeless. They have no one to give them gifts or even spend time with them. Be nice and do good. Share gifts. You don't have to give them something very expensive! Make someone smile this Christmas.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄
