Goa is one of the famous place to visit in India, Goa is also known for its striking landscape and famous beaches and harbor. The story that I will tell you was held in a village nearby the harbor of Goa.
Her name was Simi, she is very beautiful lived with her single mother, they had a small restaurant, people working in the harbor would come for lunch, and they would eat in debt, many of them never paid. But there was a engine mechanic customer who always paying the amount regularly and his name was Shyam
Shyam was very good person and was helping them for their essential needs, and stayed alone at rented house in the same village. Simi and her mother also took care of him. The market takes place once in a week at their village, and Simi brings grocery and goods for their restaurant with the help of Shyam.
On that day Simi went to the market with Shyam. As many people gather on the market, some entertainment events are also happening and there was magic show going on, Simi said that she want to see the show, so they went to sit on the ground as many people sitting already to see the show. The magician performed with several properties like ribbon, balls, flowers, birds handkerchiefs etc. and he announced someone to come to the stage and he would perform an amazing magic with him. No body was ready to go and suddenly the magician called Shyam to come to the stage, initially he hesitated and then moved slowly to the stage.
The magician asked his name and told to sit on the chair and to close eyes, his assistants ran with long towels and covered him, hide him with their towels, the magician waved his wand on the towels and a minute later towels were removed, what a magic!, there was a beautiful swan instead of Shyam. Everyone applauded and whistled loudly, while Simi afraid about her friend Shyam.
The magician told her to kept the swan(Shyam) near to her and he promised would change again the swan to Shyam at the end of the show. She brought the swan and kept him beside her, magician was showing some interesting magics, Simi also involved to watch the show interestingly, at the same time the swan walked away from her and moved further, immediately she rushed to catch the swan but the swan ran faster than her.
Oh my God! the naughty swan ran almost a mile away from the market, at last she caught him and brought him where the show was held, but no one was there, the show ended and people were dispersed already. She became tense and worried, then she rushed to ask someone about the magician, and they said that their show would held the next day at nearby town.
She is very worried, What else can she do? Without a other way, she took the swan to her home. She thought swan would run away again, So, she tied his leg with a rope and showed the other end of the rope with the pillar in front of the house. Then she went again to the market to buy things.
At the time her mom came to home, she saw the swan and delighted, she thought that her daughter brought a goose for making lunch, and she began to make the lunch with geese without knowing it was swan. Simi came from market and screamed on her mom who was pulling the wings of the swan.
Stop it! ....What are you doing??
'I thought, that you brought this goose for the lunch'.
'He is neither a goose nor a swan, but..... Shyam' she cried and disappointed about the incidence. Then she went to the lighthouse, thought her Shyam was dead. She cried lonely at the lighthouse for a long time, the sun began to set and darkness started to spread, an image was appearing at long distance and was coming closer towards her, she looked ....and prayed God it might be my Shyam ... and ... of-course it was her Shyam.
She delighted and ran to him, hugged him said " Thank God! you are alive ...alive."
"The magician mesmerized me, I was lying on a cart when my mind was clear, The magician said that particular scene was wonderful because of me. He gave some money and I refused , and then he left me at home". he said
"Oh! I miss you Shyam" she expressed her emotions.
