I wanna show you some montage I made for my band Maïeutiste.
At the beginning, our label Les Acteurs de l'Ombre Productions had asked us to make videos clips for three songs, to help the promotion of our first album.
At the beginning I wasn't sure it will works, I don't like create something only for commercials reasons, with no ideas on it. I searched some subjects or elements which can be in completion of our music. Fortunately, I found the idea to use a movie as material : "Faust" (1927) by Friedrich Murnau (hopefully with no copyrights), an important influence for our music. However the goal was to question the idea of false links between images and sounds, reason why I tend to manipulate/modify the movie, accept the scanned frame (pixels).
