My wife wanted to eat Sushi today and she was recommend Yugo Sushi by a friend. I went to get her from her work and then we went to Pali Hill in Bandra.
The sushi cafe is a tiny little place in a small alley. May take a few seconds to figure out where it is.
The menu had standard sushi on it. They also had a sushi burrito but I wasn't in the mood to experiment without trying rhe sushi once.
We both chose the Yugo boc, which was basically a combo of two sushi types per box. My box had chicken teriyaki and salmon avocado. My wife chose surimi tempura and sp california.
We were asked to wait for 15 minutes. Oh, we were also asked if we would like to eat in or takeaway. Kind of seemed like a pointless question if this is all the seating available -
After 5 minutes, I went in to check if anything was ready when to my surprise, I saw the guy cutting salmon. I was happy that the sushi was being made fresh.
After getting the ingredients ready, the guy put some rice on soy sheets and rolled with the green mat. At one point I felt he added what felt like mayonnaise in the chicken sushi. Later I saw him decorating it with mayonnaise and double checked. Told him not to ruin any more of our sushi.
Boxes were packed and two happy souls came back.
Sushi was nicely packed, we paid 10 pounds for both and thats like decent supermarket sushi price.
Before you give me rage about feeling annoyed about mayo and having chicken sushi at the same time, i wanted to try chicken rice combo.
The sushi was quite nice, better than any supermarket sushi in london. Kind of like itsu or island poke freshness. It just felt so good to eat something close to international food.
Price was reasonable. For the area where the place was located, it was probably on the cheaper side.
Staff was friendly. Don't go there expecting to eat in. But a 4.5 on 5 for the place and food.
