Este fin de semana planeo visitar a mi amiga Dayana para tomarle la medida a sus hijos para elaborarle una ropa de andar en casa y como ella tiene una pequeña hija fanática de esta comiquita decidí ayer elaborarle rápidamente esta cartuchera escolar.

Tenía un trozo de lona que me había quedado de proyectos anteriores y bueno quise aprovechar cada centímetro para darle una sorpresa.

Ahora debo pensar que le regalaré a los dos varones que tiene, eso me preocupa, pero ya tengo varios días para solucionar ese detalle.

This weekend I plan to visit my friend Dayana to take the measurements of her children to make her a walking outfit and since she has a little daughter who is a fan of this little comic strip I decided to quickly make her this school outfit.

I had a piece of canvas that I had kept from previous projects and I wanted to take advantage of every inch to surprise her.

Now I have to think that I will give it to the two boys that she has, that worries me, but I already have several days to solve that detail.

Decidí hacer la cartuchera escolar de 27 cm por 27 cm porque de este tamaño tenía el cierre de color rosado; no quería ponerle uno negro y que perdiera la belleza.

Ahora bien, luego de tener el material seleccionado debemos transferir el molde a la telas: sacamos una tapa de lona y una de forro.

Esas tiras que ven de forma rectangular serán las asas del bolso.

I decided to make the 27 cm by 27 cm school bag because it had a pink zipper; I didn't want to put a black one on it and make it lose its beauty.

Now, after having the selected material we must transfer the mold to the fabric: we took out a canvas cover and a lining.

Those strips that look rectangular will be the handles of the bag.

Procedemos entonces a doblar u coser las asas del bolso. De la manera en la que vemos en las imágenes.

Me gusta dejarlas largas para que el niño que las utilice se le haga sencillo abrir y cerrar el bolso.

We then proceed to fold or sew the bag handles. The way we see in the pictures.

I like to leave them long so that the child using them can easily open and close the bag.

Lo siguiente que nos queda por hacer es coser el cierre.

Va de la siguiente manera; primero la tela tipo lona, luego el cierre y por último la tela tipo forro.

Este proceso se debe repetir por ambas partes del cierre.

The next thing we have to do is sew up the zipper.

It goes as follows; first the canvas type fabric, then the zipper and finally the lining type fabric.

This process must be repeated on both sides of the zipper.

Cuando ya tenemos el cierre cosido de ambas partes toca coser las puntas y es en ese punto donde debemos coser las asas en cada esquina.

Debemos asegurarnos que estén bien derechas y justo en el centro para pasar una costura recta.

When we have the zipper sewn on both sides, it is time to sew the ends and it is at this point that we must sew the handles on each corner.

We must make sure they are straight and right in the middle to pass a straight seam.

Con la pieza cosida por las dos esquina debemos ya ir dando el acabado de cartuchera escolar.

Y del mismo modo que hicimos ayer la técnica con el cuadrado que mide 3 cm por 3 cm lo haces del mismo modo; por las 4 esquinas.

Marcamos y cortamos.

With the piece sewn on the two corners, we should be able to finish off the school bag.

We mark and cut.

Por último solo debemos coser y colocar en las puntas alguna tela que sirva para tapar la costura. En este caso yo utilicé un trozo de tela tipo: POP color rosa que tenía guardada.

Hacemos ese proceso por toda la costura y damos vuelta a la pieza.

Finally, all we have to do is sew and place some fabric at the ends to cover the seam. In this case I used a piece of pink POP fabric that I had saved.

We do that process all over the seam and turn the piece.
