St. Thomas Tower in South Malta is a fortification that was built by Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt in 1614. St Thomas Tower is one of the five remaining Wigancourt towers built to protect vulnerable sections of the Maltese coast from attacks
The tower is large and very interesting to visit due to its long and interesting history. The tower is named after the chapel of St Thomas that used to stand at the bay with the same name.
