Our first activity of the year began with walking quietly along the Danube River. It was one of those afternoons when the cold wrapped everything in snow and almost magical. That leaving the place in serene and peaceful. Because of the cold and snow, most people to remain indoors .
The cold air touched our faces. And every time we talked and our breath turned into a small cloud.
Everywhere we looked, the place was covered in white snow. The view felt more magical and new-like our first activity and our year started fresh.
Although the temperature was low, walking at a slow pace felt surprisingly comforting. It might have seemed crazy but it was good.
But it gave us different feeling. Aya making snowballs and simply being present together. With every step echoed with the crunch of snow and making the moment feel magical-a winter scenery.
The trees stood tall and dressed in snow, the sky was pale and it reminded us that winter was truly present.
I can say it was our perfect way to welcome the year. Just us together and just nature. A simple joy of our outdoor activity even in the cold weather.
At the river, we were welcomed by a deep sense of peace. Making it the perfect place to slow down and as we shared the moment together. We couldn’t resist taking a few photos to remember the day.
And before heading home, Aya and I decided to play in the snow-a snowball fight. There is specific joy that comes from playing in the snow and it makes me feel like a child again. Regardless of how cold it actually was and our best activity to start our year. A simple walk, snowball fight and we were together. Zoe did not celebrate New Year with us and she was with her grandma in the Czech Republic.
As we finally headed home, our coats were dusted with snow, cheeks were red from the cold and I felt so grateful. It was a simple and special moment to kick off our year.
Happiness doesn’t always come from big plans, grand places—it often comes from simple, unexpected moments. Happy New Everyone! 🎊😍🤗
