There’s more beauty here than I can
Express in simple words
So I undress my self
In a way that peels back my
Version of what is real
And I watch moisture rise
From a freshly rained on surface in the sunshine
Like the evaporation of conditioning
That has saturated my mind
I’m sure there’s a rainbow arcing over me
Somewhere, even though I can’t see it I can
Still swim in its colours
I saw god in the grocery store the other day
He had clear blue eyes and a cane and he came
To me for my smile with kind words
And then disappeared around the next isle
He carried no basket or packaging
And I think if we could all strip away
The cellophane, paper and plastic
Strip away the profane and fantastic
That the light from our raw truth
Could power all our needs and educate our youth
Unless, of course, we allow them to teach us instead
Filling up our hearts and emptying our heads
This is the first fire of the fall
Even though it is still summer there is snow
On the mountains here
Most of the leaves are still green
But they hear the call of change
Sending gold through their veins
And each breath I take carries within it
The ebb and flow of the tide
The wax and wane of the moon
The cycle of seasons beyond thought
Beyond reason
For all paths are spirals
No matter how straight they may appear
And what I wonder, here, now
Not assuming to steer my way through yet another day
Is are we walking our circular paths toward the center
Or are we expanding?
Oh, but there are more dimensions at play here than two
Perhaps it is a double spiral or
A woven web, shining with light and shimmering with dew
And my consciousness tells me that the direction of expansion or
Center is irrelevant, for they are the same
And it would be wise if I would simply step
One foot in front of the other
Because be-ing
In balance, bliss, and beauty
Is the question and the answer
And not everything needs a name
