Blessed Monday dear friends and colleagues of NeedleWorkMonday, I wish you a very productive week full of blessings.
Today I am very happy to post again in this beautiful community. It has been several days since I have been able to post due to lack of internet connection, I am still waiting for fiber optic service to be installed in my home so I can be connected all the time and have more activity in my blog.
Tejer ayuda a relajarme y a despejar la mente de las preocupaciones y angustias. Mientras estoy tejiendo me concentro en que el proyecto quede bien y el tejido sea prolijo. En ese momento no hay cabida sino para el arte y la creatividad.
But while that's been going on, I've been very busy resolving issues related to the move. Facing changes generates a bit of stress and anxiety, maybe also a bit of eagerness to solve things as fast as possible. That's why to calm my anxiety, I've resorted to my favorite therapy: crochet.
Knitting helps me to relax and to clear my mind of worries and anxieties. While I'm knitting I concentrate on getting the project right and the knitting neat. At that moment there is no room for anything but art and creativity.
This weekend I knit a Crop Top at the request of one of my sisters. The truth is that I was happy to start with this project, since I haven't knit this kind of garments for a long time. Crop tops are very popular in my country, since we have a very hot tropical climate. Despite the frequent rains, the heat is always part of our daily life, that's why we like to go to the beach or to the pool on weekends.
To start with my project, I started knitting the cups of the top. Since I'm going to be knitting a large size, I worked on a 25 chain base. Since the yarn I used has a lot of stretch, I decided to use a triple zero needle to get a small, tight stitch. Knitting with such a thin needle takes me a little longer than usual, but the result is a more delicate knit.
Gracias por leer, saludos y bendiciones.
After I had both cups ready, I joined them in the center to form the bodice and then knitted the sides. This was all my progress for the weekend, I still need to knit the base of the crop top and the straps for the neck and back. In a future post I will be showing you the finished project.
Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
