Coming in at the last minute is my entry for this week's Open Mic. I was ill the last week or so, so didn't think I'd get this in, and also missed contributing to the Voices of Open Mic (but might still try to do that tomorrow)--but here we are at the last minute.
I really enjoyed singing this. It's one of my very favourite movies from my time as a child.
"Beauty And The Beast"
Tale as old as time
True as it can be
Barely even friends
Then somebody bends
Unexpectedly
Just a little change
Small, to say the least
Both a little scared
Neither one prepared
Beauty and the beast
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Ever just the same
Ever a surprise
Ever as before
Ever just as sure
As the sun will rise
Tale as old as time
Tune as old as song
Bittersweet and strange
Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong
Certain as the sun
Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
Tale as old as time
Song as old as rhyme
Beauty and the beast
Beauty and the beast
Thanks for listening. One more thing!
I would love if you would take a few minutes (you can listen while you scroll or write!) to listen to the songs I've recently put on Dsound. These are album-quality tracks that I released in November (blood, sweat, and tears, people--truly!), but they are available for free download because I wanted you to have them. It was a hard decision to release them, but I really wanted to be able to share them with you.
Here are the direct links: "Weary" and "Heart for You"
xx,
Kay
