I'm surprised by how many people don't have goals for themselves.
If you have no plan, Or some method to accomplish the things you want out of life, How do you expect to get the things that you want?
Clear Goals
Especially with large goals, They come in steps. If you don't have a defined pathway of how you will get somewhere specific. How can you get there with ease?
You can't. It's easier to procrastinate. And come with reasons on why you aren't accomplishing your goals when you aren't making yourself liable with how you are going to get to that goal.
It's easy to do a quick google search to give yourself a rough idea of what your goal will take to accomplish.
For example, if you wanted to start your own online business, You may...
- Need to research what products you could sell. Whether it's an ebook or physical based product.
- Check the profitability of your niche
- Figure out which supplier you may use, or how you'll get your product.
- Test products
- Decide what kinds of marketing you will do and where.
- Budgeting and earning/saving money.
Etc
So while, Some businesses may need more or less. Having a rough idea of what you need to do and the order you need to go in will have a big impact on your ability to accomplish your goals.
You will be able to take baby steps.
Realistically relative to where you are at
Where are you in life, And what kind of responsibilities do you have?
How far can you reach right now? This is a big indicator of whether or not you'll be able to do the things that you want.
If you only have one hour a day to work on your goals, You may have to allow for more time for you to get the result you want. Compared to someone working on their goals for five hours a day. If one of your goals is to pack up and leave the state, but you have children, and it's the middle of the school year. These types of goals will also make it more difficult. So you have to look at your situation and judge from there.
Time limit
Having a time limit makes you even more liable. It forces you to accomplish your goals within a certain time frame. Instead of allowing you just to do them "whenever". Try to set up realistic time frames for each step of your goal process. That way you can get more done.
