There is saying in Philippines, "when you Planting, there is a Harvesting". Now take a look what I have? It was my mini USA Sweet Potato that I harvest recently and I'm proud to myself for having this kind of crop. At my back you will see the green leaves, that is my Bitter Gourd that gives me a lot of fruits.

Its started from white container plastic fiber that I found beside of the villa, then I bought green plastic screen and tie it together to make a well. At that point, I put alternate layering dry grass then the soil.

Planting of POTATO is easy to do but don't let it dry the vicinity fence of POTATO plant, always sprinkler with water when you see it's dry but don't overdo it with water or else it will die. Don't forget to put some holes at the bottom of the plant box to leak the excess water especially when it rains.
I suggest to place it into higher place like at least 15 centimeter high from the ground for the flow of excess water. When everything is done we need to wait of 2 months to harvest! The question is, how you will know if it's ready to harvest? The answer is, you will know if the all leaves is already dry.
The Preparation
After harvest, the potatoes will go to the kitchen directly to prepare for cooking to make SOPAS! SOPAS known as Vegetable Soup but the difference, it has macaroni. Others instead of macaroni, they put egg noodle. But in my situation with potato, I preferred macaroni; I never seen in my whole life an egg noodles with potato. LOL

The ingredients that I add are Cabbage, Carrots, Broccoli, 4 to 5 tbsp of salt, pinch of black pepper, 2 pcs of chili for the taste, Meet Cube, 1 Onion, 3 cloves of Garlic, and Ajinomoto or 1 tbsp of sugar, plus of course "macaroni" can't be lost to SOPAS! I forgot to say, add 1.5 of hot water after boil the macaroni for 10 minutes only separately and drain using strainer.

1. Using cooking oil or butter, fry the garlic until it become brown color followed by the any cube meat that you like. When the meat is color brown, pour the onion and stir.
2. Pour the Potato and stir, followed by the carrots, cabbage and broccoli. Let it stay for 1 minute and stir again.
3. Add the 1.5 liter of hot water from kettle then add the other ingredients, salt, pepper, chili, Ajinomoto, and sugar. Stir slowly and taste. If you are not satisfied to the taste, you can add salt.
4. Slowly pour all the macaroni that you set aside and stir. Let it boil for just 5 minutes and not more than that to avoid overcooked of the vegetables! And ready to serve!

The Finish Product
It's look like this when it's done cooking! Did you see the story? From Potato it become SOPAS! This food is good for 3 to 4 days only, but if you add milk as the common way of the Filipinos, you must consume it in 2 days because SOPAS with milk can be easily rotten. Sorry to my word? I don't know the right word to use. (^_^)
Expect after 2 to 3 hours, 25% to 50% of the water from the SOPAS will be absorbed by the macaroni, this is the reason why you need to put more water and salt to reduce absorption of the water-soup.
Hey! Here we go, ready to eat! What do you think about the menu that I share? If you like, you can try if you are vegetarian or vegan. I swear you will like it, only people who love sweets will not like the taste of this.
It is like this? People who love sweet do not eat much vegetables. People who love sweet do not eat much vegetables but more in meat, but people who eat less sweets are the people who eating more bread and vegetables.
