Hello ladies, this week's prompts as usual are goods ones, the first prompt, which is 'Tell us an anecdote from your recent or past experiences. Was it funny, embarrassing or sad? Tell us about that moment." ,took me back to my high school days. A story I'll never forget, one of the very few times my class truly stood together.
It happened during social studies lessons. The class was noisy, and after multiple warnings, our teacher kept teaching, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. When a someone passed a comment, she stopped and asked, "Who was that?" suddenly the whole class went silent. She didn't know, but we all did. We knew very well whom that voice belonged to and in that moment, no one said a word. She kept pushing hoping to get someone to spill the tea, she even mentioned she would punish the entire class, still no avail.
Our brief solidarity didn't save us. Since she couldn't pinpoint the culprit but could only tell which side of the class the noise came from. She punished the entire left side of the class, unfortunately that was my side my side. We were all brought out, questioned, and still no one wanted to snitch. We covered for the guy, but whenever she was not looking we would shoot him death stares when she wasn't looking😂.
She eventually she got tired of questioning us and gave us a collective punishment to fetch 5 buckets of gravel each for her quarters after class. We did it not happily, but together. Honestly, compared to other punishments we knew, this was mild. The gravel pit wasn't far, and it was a one-time thing.
Afterward, we let the guy have it, oh yes we didn't let him go free. But in that moment, when it mattered, a divided class-full of noisemakers, serious students, entertainers, and every group in between chose, for once, to fall together. It's a memory that still makes me laugh and shake my head. I still remember how pissed I was at first because the culprit never owned up, but at least its always a good story to tell when I am telling stories from my high school days.
Thanks for stopping and see you in the next.🥰
