Graduation Prep Diaries: A Throwback to The Day I Finally Got Soft Gel Extensions
Preparing for grand occasions is super hard, like literally. Especially graduation day. It's my first time to actually experience a graduation because when I was in Grade 6, the pandemic happened, so we never got the chance to walk across the stage. That's why, as a Grade 12 student, I honestly didn't know how to prepare or what things needed to be done, first timer things.
As most girls do, I also wanted to prepare for my makeup. Since I didn't have the money to hire a makeup artist, I just kept practicing doing my own makeup at home. But honestly, it looked so bad at first, like you would definitely not want to see the results because I literally looked like a ghost.
One random day, our neighbor/relative got soft gel extensions, and they showed them to my mom. At that time, I was still sleeping, so right after I woke up, my mom immediately asked me if I wanted to get nail extensions too. And as someone who's always watching soft gell extension online, I quickly said yes because I really wanted to experience it for myself.
As a first timer, I also searched online for nail designs that I could get, something simple and affordable enough for my parents' budget.
First time things again, I honestly didn't know that you were supposed to book an appointment first, so we jus went there directly.
When we got there, we even got lost because all the houses looked almost the same. The place was actually a relocation area given by the government to earthquake victims who lost their homes, so we ended up asking some of the residents there for directions.
And when we got there, there were already so many clients, especially teachers who were also preparing for graduation. Some of them were really busy getting ready too. We honestly thought the nail artist wouldn’t accept us anymore since we were only walk-ins, but thankfully, she still agreed. She just told us to come back later in the evening because she still had clients ahead of me.
When we came back in the evening, I took pictures of my nails first before the extensions so I could see the difference later.
While waiting for another client to finish, I looked at the available nail colors. At first, I wanted blue because it’s my favorite color, but my mom didn’t like it. So I ended up copying the color of the previous client instead, and it turned out to be nice which is nude.
I wasn’t able to take pictures during the actual process, but it felt really nice. The experience was so satisfying, and I would definitely do it again.
And this is the final look.
Rate it guys, doess it look good or bad?
