My accounts such as social media accounts, bank accounts, and crypto accounts are always guided by a strong password system which makes it hard for a mere hack except for anyone who wants to hire a professional hacker to shake my account but of what benefit is that when after my bank accounts are hacked, one won't see money inside. Lol
So, yeah, my accounts are not easily hacked due to the way I protect them, and this has kept me clear of being scammed out of my money or having my social media accounts used to scam my friends for money. I have been into online groove for a very long time, and I can easily identify phishing links, so I avoid them. Meanwhile, I also get on with a lot of sites that scare a lot of people but I have my way around them and it's very hard for my details to be used to scam me. No, I'm bigger than that.
You know, a lot of people, including some of my friends think that once you register on a site, especially random sites, one is at risk of being scammed. Most times I've shared stuff to earn money online with them and they discarded it because they thought they could be scammed. Meanwhile, they don't even have the money to be scammed. Lol. But I understand too, it's not everyone who has the mind to let out their details on a site, even as low as typing their full name.
One of the simplest scams and how to avoid it:
As for me, the simplest scam I've seen being played on people is the type where a friend begs you for money, you give out and within a short time, you'll find out that it's a scam.
How?
Last month, a female friend reached out to me on WhatsApp asking me for ten thousand naira to tackle an urgent issue. That was really the first time the friend was asking me for help. I was moved but I couldn't dare to just send the money. I had to call, on a real call to the lady to confirm if it was her that's really asking for the help and behold, it came out that her WhatsApp account was hacked and she wasn't the one seeking help from everyone on the contact list.
So whenever someone, even as close as your siblings begs you for money especially a huge amount of money and you smell something fishy, just confirm first if it's actually them because a scammer could actually hack their account, seek financial help and paste a different account to be paid in the money with a nicely cooked up story.
