Happy Saturday fellow Steemians!
I am going to make a two part post.
This being the first, will be short and sweet.
Below is my entry for weekly smartphone photography contest. The theme this week is fire 🔥.
The Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming has over 150 hydrothermal features in only one square mile.
I visited Yellowstone in July of 2017. We journeyed to the Upper Geyser Basin at the end of the day as the sun was beginning to hang lower in the sky. It made for some really cool photographs.
The manner which the geyser is erupting coupled with the angle of the sun gives the illusion of a volcano spewing lava.
In my next post I will showcase many of the hydrothermal features at Yellowstone. The park has over half of these wonders of the world. From bacteria mats to steam vents, I’ll talk about each one in more detail and discuss the differences.
My photo was taken with an iPhoneSE and there is no filter. I always seem to mess up my photos wth filters. Enjoy!
Thanks for peeking!
