True Friendship Knows No Distance
"Friendship is the only ship that never sink."
I’ve got four best friends since high school. We jokingly call ourselves as ‘G-Spot’ and call each other by our nickname: Waling, Diday, Bitang and Indeng. Weird names, right?
When college happened, we oftenly met each other and after we graduated, we met once in a blue moon. Lately, because of Steemit, Diday and I always see each other and contrary to the other two. One is in Quezon City, Manila and the other one is in Cebu. But, that doesn’t mean that the value of our friendships is deteriorating.
I was not yet sure if I’m going to visit Cebu on February 24, 2018 but I still informed Bitang beforehand. On the next day, the day of the travel to Cebu, I messaged her that I’m off to Cebu right now. When we arrived at the port 1, Cebu, I messaged her again. However, my agenda at that time is to watch HHI Visayas Qualifiers Dance Competition and she still have an NCLEX review class to attend, and so, we agreed to meet afterwards.
Apart from that, I also messaged my friend since highschool whom I called Mommy even though she’s only 2 years older than me. She’s on a morning shift and told me that it will end at 1:30 pm. We decided to meet in Robinsons Galleria Cebu where the competition was held. She’s into dancing too just like me that is why she wants to watch and support L.O.A.
We enjoyed watching the groups who dance their heart out and showcase their talent. After the performance of every group, there’s a bit of dillydally from the emcee which lengthened the show. With that, Mommy Thea and I talked and laughed. We were trying to catch things up. We haven’t seen each other for a long time and that’s why we were so talkative after a dance group performed and before the emcee calls the next group performer.
After the competition, we decided to eat and that’s when my best friend, Bitang, came. Oh I missed her so much that I pinched forcefully her arms. Then we decided to have our dinner in Ayala. We invited some of my co-dancers, Mama Van (all of us call her Mama), Prince , Franz, Lance and Jacob
.
My birthday is February 26, Prince’s Birthday
is February 27 and Anthony’s Birthday
is February 29 (unfortunately, it’s missing on the calendar) but still we call this one as a pre-birthday celebration!
Three bundles of seafood were ordered good for 10 persons. It’s really good to eat using our bare hands though. After shoveling lots of foods in our stomach, we decided to separate our ways. Mommy Thea, Bitang and I decided to have Karaoke but unfortunately, all of them are fully booked. It was already 12 midnight and we still don’t have a place to go. Then Bitang suggested that if we want to eat again but this time in Sugbu where there are lots of foods and beverages to shove down on your throat.
I told them that even though I stayed for 6 months in Cebu, I wasn’t able to come here. My eyes almost popped out because foods are everywhere and they are all cheap. There is a Thai Food, Japanese Food and Korean Food. I only brought 200 Php ($4) but I bought some foods that surprisingly made me full. We talked and we ate. And we ate and we talked.
After an hour, we decided to go home already. We only spent not more than 24 hours but still every minute we spent is worth to remember. We might not have those adventurous getaways but the most important thing was to meet each other amid the busy schedule.
Till next time!
