Today's pick in the Daily Anime Pick-Series where I pick one anime each day that I think is worth watching is Fuuka!
This anime is a combination of music and romance in a fairly well balanced mix. It is titled after one of the protagonists Fuuka Akitsuki but the story is actually told from Yuu Haruna's perspective. Yuu has just moved into his new town and is addicted to Twitter where he posts pretty much his entire life. He doesn't have any goal in life or a particular interest in something so he drifts along with the flow. That is until he has a life changing encounter with Fuuka. You see her usually wearing headphone's while listening to some music. She didn't realize until Yuu made her aware that her passion for music is so grand that she should just make some music herself. This led to the formation of a new band named The Fallen Moon. Of course Yuu and Fuuka are its first members. As they try to assemble the remaining members and start performing Yuu gets contacted by Koyuki Hinashi (Tama) a childhood friend of him that became a famous singer when they were in elementary school. She still holds feelings for him and although Fuuka doesn't realize it yet this will lead to a relationship drama along the way.
This anime scores with its beautiful visuals and gorgeous music. It creates a good trade off between music and romance which makes it a great choice for fans of either genre. As always I suggest you watch the first few episodes and then decide if you want to continue or not.
