In February, the cherry blossom was started to flowering in the place of the ruin site of a Nakijin-jou castle, Okinawa.

The variety of this cherry blossom is named as "kan'hi-zakura", and flowers are blooming in around the Lunar New Year. This variety is different from the variet "Somei-yoshino" which is the most polular in Japan.
(この桜は”寒緋桜”といい、旧正月のころに咲く種類。日本を代表する”染井吉野”とは異なります。）
