Doing things takes time. It takes some amount of energy and effort as well. Making changes in life takes time, effort and energy. Doing some things, and making some changes, can take more time, energy and effort than other things, and that makes doing some things more inconvenient than convenient.
Making changes is not only doing something that takes time, energy and effort in itself, but to arrive at the action of change can take time to do. It takes time, energy and effort to get to the point of changing.
What we are currently doing requires us to channel our energy into a certain pathway to produce certain behavior. To change our behavior requires re-channeling our energy and effort into different paths and ways of living than the current modality of living.
Not doing anything requires no energy, effort or time. It's easy, comfortable and convenient in terms of the use of energy. Not changing requires no energy, effort or time to get to that change. Doing the same thing that we are used to doing takes less effort and is more convenient. It's preferable to continue along the current course, the current path, as we don't need to move in a different direction, on a different path or way.
To change, we need to move our actions and behaviors. Time is paid, like a currency, and like a current of energy as well. We need to move our energy away from what we currently do. The "current" "channel of energy" that we direct towards certain actions and behaviors is conditioned into us. We have habits and ingrained ways of doing things unthinkingly.
It's hard to divert the energy from existing pathways. Those channels and currents already exist, and have been a part of us for so long. But letting go of our attachments frees our "energy" sockets from being plugged into certain pathways, allowing us to re-channel our energy into what we know we have to do.
The main reason for not taking up the effort to change and re-channel ourselves into alignment with truth, love, good, right and morality, is because we are lazy, and cowardly to face ourselves as we currently are. Facing ourselves allows us to motivate ourselves by admitting we are on a false, wrong or less beneficial pathway. We can overcome the fear of facing the mirror and develop the courage to stand against our former ways, allowing us to change for the better. We can develop the courage to live up to the values and morals that deep down at the core of our being we know we need to live by.
Thank you for your time and attention. Peace.
