Hello everyone, how are you doing today? Hope you are having a great time. This will be Week 217 Edition 01 of our Weekly Featured Content.
Made With Canva
So, last Saturday we had our hangout as usual, and it was just so much fun that we did not want it to end. We are currently on the first topic for this week, which is “MONEY = HAPPINESS”.
But before we proceed with the details of the topic, let us take a look at the winners of the last topic, which was “GRADING SYSTEM”.
This topic was geared toward each member of the community, telling us their thoughts on the grading system and how it affected students. For many, they agreed with the way it was, having different letters to represent the different levels of success and failure. That way, it’s quite easy to tell one student’s prowess from another’s.
On the flip side, using a simple pass/fail system would only serve to lump everyone together, regardless of how close or how far they are from the pass mark. And many people would be affected by such a system. This was an enlightening topic, indeed.
For this topic, we went through every entry post, and that is every post with the #hl-exclusive & #hl-w216e3 tag. And with the number of wonderful posts out there, it was quite difficult to make a selection. But eventually, we did just that. And so, the posts that will be featured not just for their exceptional content, but also for their level of engagement with other authors, will be listed below.
Featured Contents
PASS/FAIL GRADING: A SHIFT TOWARDS COMPETENCE-BASED LEARNING by
For this author, she told us that the pass/fail system just might be the best strategy for schools to use because it shows competency. Working with grades only increases competition between students because they want higher grades than their peers, and when they study, they do it to get higher grades, not because they genuinely want to know. And this affects them afterward when they need to put what they’ve learned into action.
MAKING THE GRADE IN THE WORLD by
*For this author, he supports the grading system because it was helpful in identifying students who were really on the same academic level. Without grades, many students who should be monitored more closely will be passed along, thereby delaying others who have gone far ahead.”
GRADING SYSTEM - DO WE NEED IT OR NOT? by
This author told us that the grading system encourages competition, and not everyone is interested in that. Not everyone wants to get As when they can simply get a C and be just as good. Knowing one’s level of failure or success will determine just how good or bad they are, and how much work they need to put in.
All of the above contents were supported by our official curation account lazy-panda with an extra amount. The first 3 authors will receive 100 ECENCY Points [ Sponsored By Ecency Team (
) ] and 1 $PANDAMINER each as a reward next Monday. These posts were selected because of their special attention to detail and how they followed the topic. There were a lot of good ones out there, but we just could not pick them all.
But then, we have some honorable mentions listed below:

How do we ensure we don't get swallowed by the rat race when we're looking for means to take care of ourselves and our families? Please share your thoughts with us.”
