MI GRAN PASIÓN, EL TENIS DE MESA || MY GREAT PASSION, TABLE TENNIS. ESP-ENG

Durante la etapa de adolescencia tuve la dicha de aprender un poco de cada deporte, entre ellos el Voleibol, el Basquetbol y el ajedrez, pero posterior a ellos llegó la chispa del popular ping pong. Fue gracias a uno de mis hermanos quien me animó a practicarlo y comenzamos a jugarlo de manera informal sobre la mesa del comedor de mi casa jajaja.

During my adolescence I had the joy of learning a little of each sport, among them volleyball, basketball and chess, but after them came the spark of the popular ping pong. It was thanks to one of my brothers who encouraged me to practice it and we started to play it in an informal way on the dining room table of my house hahaha.

Con el paso del tiempo fuimos buscando lugares donde se jugaba a manera de diversión, pero ocurrió un día especial cuando llegamos al gimnasio donde se practicaba de manera formal, con un entrenador que fue un verdadero maestro. Recuerdo bien su nombre, Carlos Reyes, quien se encuentra en España desde hace unos 20 años.

As time went by, we were looking for places where the game was played for fun, but one special day we arrived at the gym where it was practiced in a formal way, with a trainer who was a true master. I remember his name well, Carlos Reyes, who has been in Spain for about 20 years.

Cuando hacemos algo con disciplina, siempre nos irá bien. Es precisamente la disciplina, constancia y espíritu deportivo los principales rasgos que desarrolla el jugador del tenis de mesa. La pasión de competir de manera individual en la constante lucha por liderar el juego, de tomar la iniciativa en cada set, de atacar y defender hasta alcanzar la victoria, es para mí lo máximo y no puedo evitar emocionarme, jajaja.

When we do something with discipline, we will always do well. It is precisely discipline, perseverance and sportsmanship that are the main traits developed by the table tennis player. The passion to compete individually in the constant struggle to lead the game, to take the initiative in each set, to attack and defend until victory is achieved, is for me the ultimate and I can't help but get excited, hahaha.

Confieso que sentí estar en una máquina del tiempo cuando, mientras buscaba entre mis cosas viejas me topé con los certificados, incluso los credenciales que utilicé durante algunos de los viajes que hice con la delegación de mi Institución y mi Estado. Volvieron a mi mente un sinfín de recuerdos de esa etapa tan significativa de mi vida.

I confess that I felt I was in a time machine when, while searching through my old things, I came across the certificates, including the credentials I used during some of the trips I made with the delegation of my Institution and my State. A myriad of memories of that significant stage of my life came back to my mind.

Fue realmente regocijante ver a mi hijo asistir a una de mis últimas prácticas, de las cuales hace bastante tiempo. Ya en la actualidad en mi ciudad no contamos con un espacio para la práctica recreativa y con tantos obstáculos como la pandemia, la situación económica del país y el ritmo laboral, lo hacen un poco cuesta arriba. Sin embargo nunca me rindo y en ocasiones prático algunos saques y movimientos.

It was really rejoicing to see my son attend one of my last practices, which was quite a long time ago. Nowadays in my city we do not have a space for recreational practice and with so many obstacles such as the pandemic, the economic situation of the country and the pace of work, make it a little uphill. However, I never give up and sometimes I practice some serves and movements.

Recuerdo que a mi raqueta le llamo "mi vieja compañera" y mi esposa siente celos de ella jajaja.
Es en verdad una reliquia, un objeto lleno de historia. La heredé de mi entrenador antes de irse del país en el año 2000 y desde entonces me acompaña en cada evento al que he asistido.

I remember I call my racquet "my old companion" and my wife is jealous of it hahaha.
It is truly a relic, an object full of history. I inherited it from my coach before he left the country in 2000 and since then it has accompanied me to every event I have attended.

Está compuesta por un mango Butterfly, modelo Andrei Mazunov, de cinco capas, estilo ofensivo. En un principio contaba con dos gomas de reconocida calidad, la negra era una Mark V marca Yasaka y la roja una Sriver fx de la Butterfly (Hey, a los amigos que conocen de gomas, saben de lo que les estoy hablando jajaja).
Actualmente, lo complementan dos gomas de marca Tibhar modelos softy ahora, las cuales son envolventes para el efecto y rápidas a la hora de incrementar la velocidad con el Spin.

It consists of a Butterfly handle, Andrei Mazunov model, five ply, offensive style. At the beginning it had two recognized quality rubbers, the black one was a Mark V Yasaka brand and the red one a Sriver fx from the Butterfly (Hey, to friends who know rubbers, you know what I'm talking about hahaha).
Currently, it is complemented by two Tibhar branded softy softy rubbers now, which are enveloping for spin and fast when it comes to increasing speed with the Spin.
