This post was originally made for Whaleshares but I thought it would be fun to post it on Steemit, too with a little modification. (As I know that this challenge is not running here anymore, so I left out nominations for example...)
I was nominated by today to join the Why-My-Name Challenge by
and I have already mentioned to him that it would probably be too simple for a post but later
convinced me to sign up so here I am... LOL 🤣🤣🤣
In the challenge I have the following tasks:
- Tell us in a post how you chose your current Whaleshares username. The story behind it.
- Tell us your real name!
- If you could change your current username, which name would you choose and why?
- Use the tag #whymyname as the second tag
- Nominate 5 people for this challenge
OK, let's start at the beginning... here comes my secret but don't say that it was too simple... Mind your nominations and encouragements next time! 😁
Why
is my Whaleshares username? What is my real name?
Actually, this is my username on Steemit and many other platforms, too. This is derived from my real name (LOL, so I answer the second question together with the first one): My real name is Krisztina Solymosi, let me tell you the spelling because it was funny during our first voice hangout in the #met team how my fellow curator mates were trying to pronounce it... 😂😂😂
Krisztina is the easier one it is pronounced like the English name "Christina", it just has this crazy Hungarian spelling (sound 's' is spelled like 'sz' in Hungarian and we use 'k' instead of 'ch'). I don't really like this long version, I rather use the short version: Kriszta (which is like the English Krista).
My family name is Solymosi, which means something like someone having a falcon or a hawk and it is pronounced like "shoy-mo-shee". Difficult I know. You can call me Krista anytime, this is how everybody calls me. It was a quick decision to register on Steemit and I didn't even think that a name that is remembered and pronounced better would be a nicer choice. And when I came to Whaleshares I just didn't want to change it anymore.
If I could change my current username, which name would I choose and why?
Well, from the above mentioned reasons it would be wise to change my username to one that is easier to deal with but I don't want anymore. If I could go back in time to when I originally registered then I would probably choose or something similar. It has something to do with my name but simpler, too.
