Today I am going to share some beautiful photos taken on Sunshine Coast, BC during our last long weekend.
Couple words about this unique place: The Sunshine Coast Regional District of British Columbia is located on the southern mainland coast, across Georgia Strait from Vancouver Island. Sunshine Coast is famous for the traditional territories of the Squamish (Skwxwú7mesh), Sechelt (Shíshálh), and Sliammon (Tla’Amin) and Klahoose First Nations. The First Nations people have been on this land since time immemorial.
These people were doing fishing, hunting, and trade, and were noted for their totem poles, cedar canoes, and unique language. Nowadays they are more than welcome to share their history and rich culture.
For the Sunshine Coast area is a more typical mild climate with the moist winters and warm, dry summers. Temperatures on the Coast can range from a damp cold and wet 0C (32F) in winter to highs of 30C (90F) in summer.
There is a joke saying that in Vancouver is possible on the same day snowboarding and surfing. Sunshine Coast allows playing golf and snowshoeing on the same day.
Seriously, This place offers a lot of activities: hiking, kayaking, swimming in the warm lakes, harvest oysters, etc... Such a beautiful place to enjoy the long weekend!
