For your health
Bamboo plants are naturally antimicrobial and antibacterial. Because of this and other benefits, the products that can be made for home use are not only hygienic, but also luxurious and practical.
Clothing
Having had a few (only because they are difficult to find), shirts and socks made of Bamboo, I can tell you they are amazing. First they are soft and naturally wicking, far more than cotton or that new plastisized material they use. They never smell of sweat or must even if you work them hard and dump them in a hamper. The socks too are a perfect use case as comfort and oder are great for all day travel... 24+ hour intercontinental type travel... if which I do for work quite a bit.
The strange part is That bamboo clothing is both warmer and cooler than most other materials... go figure!
Kitchen
For cutting boards or cooking utensils, bamboo is light, durable and more hygienic than others woods. They are harder density than most woods and they don’t warp as easily... you can use thinner boards that don’t need as much care.
Sheets
The luxury and softness are undisputed as bamboo towels and bamboo blend towels dry faster than pure cotton towels and don’t get smelly or musty in the way cotton towels can.
They are highly absorbent too making these a far superior towel compared to cotton and especially compared to poly blends.
Bedding
For all of the reasons above; softness, warmth, cooling, absorbent, fast drying, odor resistancy as well as antibacterial and anti microbic, I mean what more can you ask!
Flooring
These floors cost about the same but are more environmentally sound as the growth rate is faster. They are water resistant, durable as well as having a wide variety of style/s. Most with a rather unique look that make them a standout in your home.
Food
Yup you can eat it too! Not only are bamboo shoots edible, but they are a staple of any Asian cuisine. The tender young shoots of some species are used in various dishes and broths. The whole plant of course is not edible, but hey more so than trees or cotton.
Sustainable
And bamboo grows fast, probably the fastest of any plant and easily replenished. The regenerate from their base so cutting them down for use allows them to grow new stalks. And they grow in many climates, but be careful as some types can be invasive and spread like crazy.
So just wow, get some bamboo in your life
