Wow! Took me a while, but here I am – the 1000 followers milestone!
Thank you all so much for hitting the Follow button – hopefully because you found something interesting to read, as I don't do 'follow for follow'.
I know it's not about numbers, but about the people behind them and we all know that no matter how many followers one has it's just a handful of them we interact with on a daily basis. We also know how annoying it is to see that no matter how much work you put in a post, you rarely get an upvote from outside your circle of friends. (I'm not going to moan about that – I'll do that privately!)
Anyway, since I know how hard it is to get some attention, this post is exactly about that – finding new Steemians that could use a bit of appreciation! And a small gift!
The state of the crypto-markets being what it is, some will find it hard to keep posting every day and see they get no rewards and nobody cares.
Just last night I was scrolling on the New posts and found some cute photos of a snowman and the lady that had made it. Not much of a post, not what we'd call 'meaningful content', just something nice. Other well-established users routinely get on the Hot page with the same kind of post. We all know how frustrating it is, especially for newbies. After nine months on the platform I know a couple of cute pics won't get me to the Hot page...
I gave that lady my small upvote – it won't make her rich, but at least she'll know someone has seen her work and appreciated it. Give her a small reason to stick around – in the long run, it will be good for her, but also for all of us, as a community.
Steemit is still in it's infancy and we need to get more people on board. And interact with them! We need to get way more users to make Steemit powerful – and a place for free speech!
With this in mind, I want to show my gratitude to the Steemit community by offering three prizes – an upvote and a 2 SBD gift each!
Feel free to leave a link to a good post – yours or someone else's – as long as the user has a reputation lower than 55! If you know of anyone who is struggling to make friends, please send me a link!
(No sexy ladies or random pics from the Internet! Submit links during the next 24 hours, after which I'll start reading and make my picks!)
Also, I think we should all make a habit of visiting new users – not the spammers, obviously – and give some encouragement, make them feel welcome!
I remember when I was new on the platform and trying to make friends I was so sad to discover I'd lost one of my few followers overnight! I even wrote a post about that and got some encouragement from some very nice people!
I've had a lot of help from really wonderful people and it's time to help others! Sorry I can't offer more at this time, but when Steem goes to the Moon and I get my Lambo, I'll be able to do more!
