Finding the true users, and avoiding the deceivers
In my adventures around Steemit I have heard and read some really fascinating stuff. I have met some really interesting people. And I have learned some really interesting things.
I have however also noticed some real rubbish, especially in the comments section.
Examples as follows
- copy and paste comments
- posting in a language someone doesn't speak (I connect with a lot of Spanish users and frequently see a lot of this)
- plagiarism - although I must say there are some users who are really onto keeping this in check, and I have seen some pretty epic take downs of fakers
- a rise in hot girl butt spam .....haha butt spam
This of course detracts from the herculean efforts of the community to make this a place of intellectual and artistic exchange. I believe if we can keep up our standards the spam types will not be able to get a foothold here.
As we all know the core rules of Steemit are
- be genuine
- make real content
- attribute other people's work if you use it
- engage with your fellow users in a real way
- be consistent and patient
- be in it for the community and the money will come
Steem often, Steem hard, Steem genuinely, and Steem on my friends
