I thought goals were stupid and took the enjoyment out of life until very recently. I used to think that just wanting to be consistent with doing something challenging would be enough to motivate me to do it.
I think deep down it was because I was scared of not hitting my goals. Of failing.
Goals are important because they give you something concrete to work towards. I'm a very curious thinker type person and I often get sidetracked by interesting things. These could be articles on subjects I'm interested in or watching soccer endlessly :) This isn't a bad thing but the distraction still takes me away from important tasks and responsibilities.
I have a feeling many people on Steemit are also curious creators like myself. But I think everyone needs that discipline mixed with creativity. That hard backbone that allows you to drive through the boring work to get to a better place.
If we can set concrete goals that are difficult, we can push ourselves to new heights that we never thought we could reach.
Goals are an amazing tool. I highly recommend sitting down and setting goals for important areas of your life.
Even if you start with one goal for one area of your life. You'll see a difference if you can follow through and achieve. I promise.
