I went home and spent three days on a quick vacation in my hometown last week. It’s been a while since I last visited my parents and the last time was in 2018 when I attended a friend’s wedding.
I rarely visited my parents when I started to work in Metro Manila and have my own family there. Going home will take me 12 hours of travel on a bus ride but will take me only an hour If I travel by airplane.
There are several reasons why I seldom go home for a vacation; one main reason is the funds. Good thing I would go solo but I have my wife and two kids so it’s kind of expensive traveling home and staying there for a week or two. It's should be planned if I would go on a vacation with my family.
I only travel with my wife this time and leave the kids with my in-laws. The last time I went home with my wife was thirteen years ago. I never had the chance to take her to some tourist destination in our place. So I promised to bring her to Mayon Skyline during my recent quick visit at home. It is one of the tourist destinations in our place which is located at the main tourist attraction in Albay province – The Mayon Volcano.
The Philippines is an archipelago so there are a lot of beaches here where tourists can spend their vacation.
Below are some of the photos I captured during my quick vacation. I wanted to take more photos of other tourist destinations in my hometown but forgive me as I have limited time to stay. I wish I could show you more next time.
I also visited my old friends. They were so happy because they were surprised. I didn't tell them that I would be visiting home, it was unplanned. We hang out for a couple of hours and talked about old times although there was a moment of sadness because two from our circle of friends have long been gone.
